Sponsor a Clinic Patient or Education Animal
You, your organization, class, or family can help us feed and care for the animals that come into the clinic or the animals that need to stay with us permanently. Choose an animal you want to sponsor and your donation will go directly to the cost of food and care for that animal or group of animals. This is a great way to get a class or scout group involved in helping Long Island’s native wildlife and habitats. Wildlife sponsorships can also be given as gifts! Recipients will receive a card notifying them of your gift. All wildlife sponsors receive a sponsorship certificate and a picture of the animal they are sponsoring. Here's "H.O.W."
Sponsor the 2008 Walk for Wildlife
You, your organization, company, or family can become a sponsor of the 2008 Walk for Wildlife. Click here to learn more about sponsoring this exciting annual fundraising event. Sponsoring businesses will be featured in the Walk brochure and other VW publications, and individual donations can be made in the name of (or in memory of) a family member, friend, or even a pet!

Although we are located in rent free facilities in a New York State Historic Park, direct federal, state and local government funding amounts to less than 6% of our annual expenditures. We rely primarily on donations from our active members and from fundraising events. If you would like to make a monetary donation, please download our donation form. If you prefer to donate items for us to use in our facilities, choose any from the list below.
Every day items needed (ongoing)
- Newspaper: large and small sizes (please remove shiny ads and flyers)
- Bleach: regular, non-scented
- White vinegar: large jugs
- Trash bags: white, kitchen trash can liners and big black 45 gallon “Contractor bags” (these have 3mil thickness)
- Ziploc freezer bags: gallon size
- Sponges: with or without scouring pad
- Scrub brushes
- Mop head replacements for “Quickie” brand or other “S” type
- Vacuum bags for Eureka “F and G” style
- Copy paper: preferably min 30% PCW recycled
- Large empty spray bottles
- Dishwashing detergent: regular (not for dishwashers)
- Windex
- Fresh fruits and vegetables
- Baby food
- Fresh seafood
- C-Fold Paper Towels

- Heating pads
- Pro-Plan kitten chow
- Weight maintenance dog chow
