Guide to Bird Identification
This guide lists several frequently encountered types of birds on Long Island. Very common songbirds are listed in bold. The links provided will lead you to photos and a description of the bird, as provided by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology's online guide, "All About Birds." Keep in mind, a bird's appearance will vary somewhat based on their age and the seasons, so you may not find an exact match in the photos linked here.
