Please note: At this time, no one, citizen or licensed rehabilitator, is allowed to work with raccoons due to the recent occurrence of rabies in Nassau and Suffolk counties. If you have a concern regarding a raccoon, the Department of Health must be contacted. Please be advised that you will be directed to hire a licensed trapper to trap the animal at your expense, and it must be euthanized on your property.
