Happy Baby Season!

Last weekend brought us our first two Cottontails of the year. Although they are from separate nests, these babies will provide company to each other as they grow. Lawn mowers and pets are among the biggest hazards to Cottontails. Remember to check for nests before mowing. Supervise dogs when outside to play and always keep cats indoors. Mother rabbits feed their babies only twice a day in the early morning and night hours. Cottontails grow up quickly in about three weeks time so they won't be in the nest for long!
