Rescue & Transport volunteers work out in the field to capture, contain, and transport injured and orphaned animals to our hospital. Wildlife also needs to be transported from veterinary hospitals across Long Island to our center.

These volunteers commit to a four-hour shift once weekly where you are "on-call" from the convenience of your own home. If we receive a call on your chosen shift, we will contact you to spring into action to help a wild animal in distress! Animals are then transported to our center in Locust Valley for care.

Requirements:

• Minimum age of 18 years old

• Have a valid driver’s license

• Use your own vehicle

• Complete a safety and training seminar

• Willingness to drive throughout Nassau and Western Suffolk counties
